After listening to Al Davis yesterday, I must say - he certainly sounds like a man with full use of his faculties, and the Senile Old Bastard that some people seem to have thought he was is just a myth. He made a mistake, a bad hire, and he thought he could salvage the coach. He couldn't, Kiffin is gone - the Raiders move on.
Like Dan said (according to Sousa) "Fuck you, It's Al's team."

To quote George Costanza, "It's not a lie if YOU believe it".
It may be Al's team, but it's the Raider fans who have to live with his horrible management.
Winning in the NFL decade after decade is impossible - most teams go through cycles. The Raiders are in a down cycle now - and maybe until the end of Davis's tenure as Managing General Partner.
I've said it before and I'll say it again:
When you sign up to be a Raider fan you've signed up for Al Davis for life.
In retrospect, the Callahan, Norvell, Art, and Lane administrations went approximately as might have been expected. What's the prediction for Cable?
